It starts with a tickle,
A little tickle in the throat.
You ignore it,
But it doesn’t go away.
It turns into a cough,
A hacking, dry cough.
You try to suppress it,
But it won’t be silenced.
Your nose starts to run,
And your eyes start to water.
You feel tired,
And you just want to go to bed.
You take some medicine,
But it doesn’t seem to help.
The cold has taken hold,
And there’s nothing you can do.
You’re stuck in bed,
With nothing to do but rest.
You’re miserable,
And you just want to feel better.
But the cold has its way,
And it will take its time.
There’s nothing you can do,
But wait it out.
In a few days,
The cold will run its course.
And you’ll be back to your old self,
But for now,
You’re just stuck in bed,
With a cold.
