I Hate the Heat

The sun beats down like a hammer,
The air is thick and still.
I wish I could escape to winter,
Where the snow is cold and chill.

I long for the feeling of frost,
The crunch of snow beneath my feet.
I want to wrap myself in layers,
And stay warm and cozy all week.

But instead I’m stuck in this heat,
Boiling like a frog in a pot.
I can’t wait for winter to come,
And bring some relief at last.

Until then, I’ll just have to try
To stay cool and hydrated.
And dream of the day when I can
Finally escape this heat.
