Doubt

A shroud of doubt, a constant ache,
Whispers echo, “They’re all a fake.”
A yearning heart, a longing gaze,
For friendships etched in life’s long days.

Like shadows cast in fading light,
I fear the warmth won’t hold its might.
A creeping thought, a gnawing tear,
“They’ll find me wanting, vanish, disappear.”

But hold, dear soul, and see anew,
This tapestry of fears you sew.
For worth is not a fickle friend,
It blooms within, till journeys end.

In kindness sown, in laughter shared,
In honest words, vulnerabilities bared,
There lies the bridge, the sturdy span,
To hearts that meet, hand in hand.

Let not the whispers hold you down,
Unfurl your wings, let courage crown.
With open arms and gentle grace,
Embrace the light, find your own space.

For friendships bloom in fertile ground,
Where doubts are shed, and trust is found.
And though some paths may diverge and bend,
True connections have no end.

So shed the armor, break the chains,
Let vulnerability ease the pains.
For in your core, a light so bright,
Will draw companions to your light.

And someday soon, the whispers fade,
Replaced by laughter, unafraid.
You’ll find your tribe, a loyal band,
Friends forever, hand in hand.

So walk with faith, and head held high,
The sun will find you in the sky.
For love and worth, forever entwined,
Will weave a tapestry of friendships kind.
