Ode to my cat
O feline friend, with fur so sleek,
A hunter’s grace in every leap.
Your eyes, like jewels, hold ancient lore,
A silent wisdom, evermore.
Your purr, a rumble, deep and low,
A soothing song that melts the woe.
You knead my lap, a rhythmic beat,
A lullaby for tired feet.
You stalk the shadows, brave and bold,
A tiny tiger, fierce and old.
Yet on my chest, you curl and rest,
A furry pillow, warmth confessed.
You bat at strings, a playful dance,
Then sprawl and preen, in sunlit trance.
A regal pose, a flick of tail,
Your independence, never frail.
Though nights you chase the feathered dream,
My loyal friend, you what it means
To share a home, a bond so true,
My furry muse, I sing of you.
