The Words Pile up, a Lonely Cairn

The Words Pile up, a Lonely Cairn
The woes of a lonely indie writer, about to give up.

The words pile up, a lonely cairn
On pages blank, a barren plain.
She writes and writes, with passion deep,
But no eyes see, no hearts will keep.
Her stories yearn, her poems sing,
Of love and loss, of everything.
But silence greets each heartfelt line,
A symphony unheard, a hidden shrine.
The ink bleeds dry, the paper frayed,
Her soul exposed, her spirit flayed.
The doubt creeps in, a chilling blight,
“Is this all worth the lonely fight?”
Yet still she writes, with stubborn grace,
A fire burning in its secret place.
For even unread, the words hold power,
A testament to every passing hour.
Though no one sees, she’ll still create,
A world of words, her own estate.
For in the writing, she is free,
A writer writing, eternally.

The ache begins, a subtle sting,
A whisper in the heart’s soft wing.
A memory floats, a face, a place,
A longing for a warm embrace.

The laughter shared, the stories told,
Around the hearth, in days of old.
Familiar scents, a loving touch,
Missed so dearly, oh, so much.

The miles stretch out, a ribbon long,
Separating where I belong.
A yearning grows, a heavy weight,
To be with them, before too late.

But time moves on, the world keeps turning,
And hope remains, a candle burning.
For in my heart, they’re always near,
Their love a balm, dispelling fear.

And though I miss them, every one,
I know we’re still connected, bound as one.
Until we meet, I’ll hold them tight,
Within my soul, their guiding light.

A Soul Connection, in This Lonely Space.

The quiet hum of an empty room,
Aching with silence, shrouded in gloom.
A longing for laughter, a shared embrace,
A soul connection, in this lonely space.

To find a friend, a kindred spirit true,
Whose words bring comfort, whose thoughts shine through.
Someone to message, without a second thought,
Whose conversations leave my spirit caught.

To share the mundane, the dreams, the fears,
To wipe away the lonely, silent tears.
A bond unbreakable, a trust so deep,
Knowing my secrets, they’ll forever keep.

But fear whispers doubts, a constant refrain,
“Will I be too much? Will they feel the strain?”
The need for connection battles the dread,
Of being a burden, words left unsaid.

Yet hope flickers still, a tiny flame,
That somewhere out there, someone feels the same.
A yearning for friendship, a hand to hold,
A story waiting, waiting to unfold.

A Writer’s Lament

A mind ablaze, a heart afire,
With tales untold, a writer’s desire.
A universe of words, a cosmic sight,
Yet trapped in shadows, hidden from light.

Ideas ignite, a spark within,
A story’s birth, a hopeful win.
But doubt creeps in, a fearsome foe,
A lonely journey, a silent woe.

A sea of words, a vast expanse,
A writer’s dream, a hopeful chance.
To share their vision, their soul laid bare,
A longing gaze, a vacant stare.

A silent plea, a heartfelt cry,
To reach the world, soar ever high.
A writer’s hope, a fragile thing.

A silent plea, a heartfelt cry,
To reach the world, soar ever high.
A writer’s hope, a fragile thing,
To find a reader, a joyful spring.

Indie Writer Advice (Indie Writer Series #4)

Every writer has their own unique style and approach to writing. Focusing on word counts can lead to feelings of inadequacy or pressure to conform to someone else’s standards. Instead, focus on the quality and impact of your writing. Write from the heart and let your words flow naturally. Remember, writing is a journey and every writer has their own path to follow. So, don’t compare yourself to others and enjoy the process of creating something truly unique and special.

Being an Indie Writer

Photo by Min An on Pexels.com

I sit here in the darkness,
My fingers on the keys,
I type and type and type,
But no one seems to see.

I write my heart out,
I pour my soul into each word,
But it’s like I’m shouting
Into a void unheard.

I know I’m not the only one,
There are so many indie writers out there,
All struggling to be heard,
All fighting for a chance.

But I’m not giving up,
I’ll keep writing until my fingers bleed,
I’ll keep fighting until my voice is heard,
I’ll keep believing that one day,

Someone will read my work,
And they’ll love it as much as I do.

The Shadow Realm Chronicles: Maeve

Check out the first book in my series the Shadow Realm Chronicles. The series is almost done. Two more books to come which are both being edited now! Stay tuned for more! All books are available on Kindle for 3.99 and they are part of Kindle Unlimited! The link is at the bottom of this post.

Many years ago, darkness tore apart the worlds. They called it the Great War, for it was massive and involved all the realms of each world. Enemies on either side grew their armies for battle with heavy casualties. New allies formed out of this bloodshed while old ones crumbled.

The world of the Faye changed forever as their king descended into madness. His name was Julian. He once was a loving ruler, but those times were long gone. The pages written of him now are full of rage, blood, and hatred. Hatred for his children who grew to love others and revolt against him and his rule. Hatred for his wife, who fled with his children and hatred for all the realms that were not under his rule. Julian needed his children because they were powerful. Each one controlled one of the four elements: wind, water, earth, and fire. Even though his children hated what he had become, they remembered the good in him and were perhaps the only ones besides their mother who did.

Marius, the leader of the vampires and Jonathan, the ruler of The Shadow Realm, fought alongside Julian, but they did not trust him. Each of these three men was scheming against each other as they all wanted to come out the victor.

Jonathan had many plans and plots forming in his head, but they all revolved around Maeve. Maeve was a fairy, but she lived in a quiet world. The one world that was protected from the Great War. Jonathan didn’t care what Julian or Marius did as long as it didn’t inter- fere with his plan, but interfering was what they did best. Jonathan had great plans for Maeve and her family, but he knew little of her connections to Julian’s family.

The Great War might have been over, but another one was looming in the distance, and it all began with a lonely mother named Maeve.
